The barrels are personally chosen by Dixon from his own double-barreled stock of high-rye bourbon mash bill (35% rye). After spending a year in new charred oak barrels, it is bottled and offers a full-bodied, full-flavored expression with a viscous mouthfeel derived from the double-barreling process. The different char levels in the secondary barrel contribute complexity to the flavor and balance the spicy finish of the high-rye distillate.
