Blade & Bow 12 Year Solera Reserve is a limited annual release crafted by Nicole Austin, Director of American Whiskey Liquid Development at Diageo, at the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery. This expression builds on Blade & Bow's fractional blending heritage, starting with a 12-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon finished through a multi-vat Solera process that integrates character from Cognac, Bordeaux, Moscatel, and Port casks. The nose reveals rich, oak-forward complexity with a fruity lift characteristic of extended maturation. The palate opens with golden honey and soft vanilla, layered with baked apple, caramel, and leather. The finish is structured and warming, balanced by building baking spices and deep wood tannins.
