The illustrious Sazerac Coffee House was established in 1850 on Exchange Alley in New Orleans, Louisiana and quickly became renowned as the birthplace of “America’s First Cocktail” - the Sazerac. By substituting rye whiskey for the traditional French brandy, adding a splash of Peychaud Bitters, and using Herbsaint, the official cocktail of New Orleans was born. This straight rye boasts a smooth spiciness and balanced sweetness that tantalizes the taste buds, living up to the esteemed Sazerac name. Fully matured, it offers hints of oak, leather, molasses, and all-spice, while the long, warm finish is accompanied by notes of mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla, and a hint of lingering pepper.
